Wirtz, played a key role in Bayer Leverkusen’s success last season, and the merengues hold his attacking prowess at a high.

Owing to his spectacular showings at the Euros 2024 and in the bundesliga, wirtz has become a player to get across Europe.

Xabi Alonso’s influence in Wirtz future

Real Madrid will not be the only club to fight for Wirtz next summer. The German has also attracted interest from Europe giants including Bayern and man city.

Spoiled with offers, small details could play a key role in this scenario, with the future of coach Alonso in question. Alonso, who has been linked with an exit from Leverkusen, has largely been tipped to succeed Ancelotti.

Real Madrid have been quite impressed by the tactical showings of their former man since his first days with Leverkusen. It is also said that if Ancelotti doesn’t meet the expectations of the club, a move for Alonso is not ruled out.
