Real Madrid is widely recognized for its search for excellence and as a result, the best most always play for the club. The can be evident with the clubs latest summer arrivals kylian Mbappe and Endrick in attack despite already boasting some big names such as Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, Bellingham, Arda Güler and Brahim Diaz in the squad.

For some time now, the merengues have been looking to reinforce their defensive department, with it being the only area of the pitch where they really fall short of staff and one position in particular has been the LB position, with Alphonso Davies the prime target.

Interest in Davies

Increasing injury woes to Mendy, meant the club had to look away for an upgrade, with Davies’ names being the most talked about at the Bernabéu head offices.

Bayern Munich, Who highly value their man were not willing to part ways with the Canadian speed star, and if it were to ever happened, they would be prepared to put up a strong fight and not give up on their man easily.

The Bavarian giants value their man at nothing Les than €50-60m, a fee Real Madrid are not willing to match. The merengues recognize what Davies brings to the table and value his expertise, but are not willing to jeopardize their transfer policy for a player who is in the final year of his contract.

If rumors are to be believed, real Madrid would offer nothing more than €25-30m, with Bayern not willing to accept the offer.

One final role of the dice

In a major update by reliable Spanish newspaper, Relevo, Real Madrid are now considering making one last attempt to convince Bayern Munich to let go of their man for a fee rather than lose him for free next summer, as they will table a round-off offer of €30m in the final days of the transfer market.

Failure to comply with this final bid, means Bayern are taking the risk of losing Davies for free next summer.

It’s also worth noting to mention the fact that Madrid are in no pressing need of Davies this summer, owing to the fact that Ferland Mendy stepped up to the plate last season and played a crucial role in the teams success, while staying injury. For that, the merengues will be willing to bet on him again this season while also counting on the services of back up Fran Garcia.

Davies’ future desires

Bayern’s disadvantageous stance in this whole saga is owed to Davies’ desires, as the highly rated LB wants a change in scenery with the Bernabéu his only desired destination.

The fact that Davies demanded a €20m annual salary while rejecting Bayern’s initial €13m annual offer is proof of his willingness to leave.

However, Davies is well aware of the fact that he won’t get €20m annual salary at Real Madrid but still wishes to join the club.
