The Frenchman arrived at Clairefontaine yesterday to join NT, but was dropped from the squad not long after.

In a shocking update yesterday, Fabrice Hawkins, a reliable journalist for RMCsport stated:

Aurelien Tchouameni has left France NT due to a problem with his left foot.

Building up in this report, the Spanish media was quick to react with another report from Marca stating:

“Tchouaméni will now undergo more tests in Madrid for his left foot issue.”

However, there is no call for alarm regarding the Frenchman’s injury setback, as it’s claimed to be “Not Serious” as per Rodra P of Relevo:

“Aurélien Tchouaméni’s injury is not serious, and he will use the international break to REST.”

“He will prepare to arrive against Real Sociedad in the best shape.”

Indeed, another report from Guillermo Rai of the athletic was not far from the others as it claimed:

“Tchouaméni ended up with a discomfort in his left foot on Sunday, and France have allowed him to return to Madrid to be treated.”

“He’s a doubt for Real Sociedad but not ruled out.”

Real Madrid’s injury woes

In the last 24 hours, the club has now confirmed injuries to Ceballos, Ferland Mendy and now Aurelien Tchouaméni. This adds to an already existing list of Camavinga, Bellingham, Alaba and Joan Martinez.

Should Aurelien Tchouaméni not return on time when Real Madrid take-on Real sociedad after the international break, Ancelotti will only have Modrić, Valverde and Arda Güler to count on in the Midfield department.

However, as the reports state, more updates on the extent of the injury are still pending. Ferland Mendy and Tchouaméni will now head back to Madrid from France.
