Thibaut Courtois is diagnosed with sacroiliitis Injury

Real Madrid released a statement yesterday, confirming the injury of their number #1 shot stopper thibaut Courtois. The player is reported to be diagnosed with a sacroiliitis. Am official report read:

Following tests carried out on Thibaut Courtois by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with sacroiliitis. His recovery will be monitored.

Sacroiliitis is inflammation within the sacroiliac joint. It is a feature of spondyloarthropathies, such as axial spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis or arthritis related to inflammatory bowel diseases, including ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease. Source: Wikipedia

Courtois will be back in time for the CWC

Courtois’ unfortunate injury means he will miss out on Belgiums clash against North Macedonia and wales. The fixtures are scheduled on the 6th and 9th of June respectively.

However, the Belgian is set to return fully fit for the upcoming Club World Cup later this month. Real Madrid’s first game will be against Al Hilal on the 18th of this month. That’s exactly 16 days from today.
