As revealed by the Spanish journalist, Lucas Vasquez’s continuity with the club has become a matter of serious uncertainty. The word being whispered by those involved is “it’s complicated”

As we earlier said,  Real Madrid are VERY close to landing Trent Arnold this summer. If the move materialises, it’s not difficult to see why Vasquez must make way. Additionally, Carvajal is currently en route to a return by June making it 3 senior RB’s in the squad.

It’s also worth noting that Vasquez’s game has declined a great deal this season. The 33 years old veteran now find himself behind Valverde  (a Midfielder) in the pecking order.

His defensive lack has costs the team in games this season, and it looks like Ancelotti is beginning to lose faith in the player. However, his leadership qualities are ever so valuable.

How Real Madrid could Diffuse The Situation:

In a team of Trent – Carvajal – Vasquez, one must make way. In this case, let’s assume Vasquez is headed for the exit doors, that leaves the club with Trent and Carvajal.

One is arguably the greatest RB of his generation, while the other is a Galactico signing. In this case, age comes into play.

Trent (26) might unsurprisingly get the start ahead of 33 years old Carvajal, unless the veteran returns from injury in a monstrous form.

Still, I don’t think Real Madrid are signing Trent to sit him on the bench, so it will be interesting how this plays out.
