Carlo Ancelotti will be one relief manager after his teams performance last night. In what has been a rollercoaster start of the season for Real Madrid, the men in white secured a very important 2-0 victory over Real Betis.
Although Carlo admitted there was still room for improvement after the game, the manager was less critical compared to the post match press conference against Las Palmas.
Carlo Ancelotti’s post match Reaction
In a customary post match press conference, Carlo Ancelotti faced a handful of questions, including how he assessed the game, to which he replied;
“We were better today, we deserved this win. Good feelings. We were more solid in defense with those 3 midfielders tonight.”
Insisting on defensive contributions, Carlo couldn’t help but give praise to French DM, Aurelien Tchouaméni as he said;
“Tchouaméni is a fantastic defensive midfielder. He’s irreplaceable, he helps our defense a lot.”
Spaces began to open for Real Madrid when Brahim Diaz came on. The former man city man looked dangerous on 1v1, opening a lot of spaces for teammates. On the Moroccan international, Carlo said;
“Brahim played in midfield tonight and was very good.”
He then went on to send a message to all his bench players saying;
“I don’t consider players like Fran García and Brahim ‘bench players’. All the players are important, no matter the minutes.”
Class act for Vini, who let Mbappe take the penalty, installing goal scoring confidence in his teammates. On that, Ancelotti said;
“Vinicius has been very unselfish, he left the penalty to Mbappé. Their relationship is good.”
The manager then talked a little further on Mbappe’s goal draught as he said;
“Mbappé’s goal? We have never put pressure on him, but this game has surely been important to him.”
On the aspect of goals in general for his attacking players, Carlo continued;
“Scoring goals is the least of our problems.”
Yesterday’s game was the last for the next two weeks, with international break coming up. However, Carlo did not look to be much of a fan as he said;
