When young Endrick joined Real Madrid this summer, there was a lot of talk as to where his game time would come from, with kylian Mbappe being his direct competition.
This was evident in the first two games of the season when the young star didn’t feature in any of the two games.
Ten minutes of brilliance
Against Real Valladolid, when the game was still just 1-0, Carlo Ancelotti took it upon himself to trust the young Brazilian amongst the substitutes in the 85th minutes and the rest was history on his Real Madrid debut, in front of a packed Bernabéu crowd.
In just a little over 10 minutes in total, Endrick managed; 1 ground duel won, 3 touches in total, 1 touch in the opponent box, was fouled once and 1 shot towards the direction of goal, which was his goal while accumulating an xG of 0.04.
What’s next for Endrick?
With a squad as well equipped and packed with competition as that of Real Madrid, Endrick’s performance against Valladolid was the least you can expect from a player who wants to convince his manager.
In an attack of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz and Arda Güler, Endrick looked to be the least favorite in the pecking order, but I doubt things will remain the same if he continues to impress.
