Holding champions Real Madrid have now learned who they will face in the 2024/25 UCL group stage.
After beating Borussia Dortmund in the finals of the old UCL format, here is who the merengues will face in this new format of 36 teams.
B. Dortmund (H)
Opponents in the final at wembley, this two sides will be familiar with each other when Dortmund visits the Bernabéu
Liverpool (A)
Real Madrid thrashed Liverpool 5-2 the last time both sides met at Anfield. With another trip to England in sight these two clubs are no strangers to each other.
AC Milan (H)
AC MILAN and Real Madrid are considered two of the most successful clubs in Europe’s biggest stage. Having won 7 and 15 UCL’s respectively, it will be a battle for the ages when Milan visits the Santiago Bernabéu.
Atalanta (A)
Real Madrid’s most recent title came at the expense of Atalanta. The merengues Cruised pass the Italian side in Warsaw earlier this month 2-0. As the saying goes “football always gives revenge”, Atalanta will have the chance to get one over Madrid on home soil.
Salzburg (H)
Austrian heavyweight Salzburg are up for a Bernabéu treat at the expense of the Galactico 2.0. It will be interesting to see how they fair against a star studed Real Madrid side.
Lille (A)
A reunion for the Mbappe brothers will be the highlight of this encounter. With the older of the two coming into this as favorite, it will be interesting to see if the younger can cause an upset.
Stuttgart (H)
Stuttgart with an impressive 2023/24 were one of this year’s surprise package in the champions league. They will travel to the Bernabéu with the aim of justifying their participation in this tournament.
Brest (A)
Real Madrid will travel to France for both of their ties against French oppositions. As competition debutants, Brest will receive Real Madrid at home in their first time of asking.
