After a transfer saga that lasted for almost seven years, Real Madrid finally got their man. The club secured a 5 year deal for long-standing target Mbappe on a free transfer from PSG in this transfer window.
Kylian Mbappé’s move to Real generated a lot of hype from fans and pundits alike. However, After an impressive debut against Atalanta in the UEFA super cup, the French has failed to hit the ground running in back-to-back LaLiga outings.
The atmosphere is calm about Mbappe’s form
Despite failing to directly impact results in opening two LaLiga games, Madrid do not see this as a major issue.
Indeed, this was all but confirmed by Ancelotti’s confident response in yesterday’s pre-match press conference. Mbappé’s current goal drought was amongst the question Ancelotti faced in his recent presser. The manager was asked how the Frenchman’s lack of goals was received, to which he replied casually;
“Talk to you about Mbappe? I think the last time he scored was on August 14th. That was only 2 weeks ago, we are not worried and he is not worried.”
Prior to this, Spanish newspaper, Marca has now claimed Real Madrid do not really pay attention to the outside noise. On the contrary, the merengues are more than happy with the Frenchman’s desire to be “one more” amongst his teammates.
When the 25 Years-old former PSG star signed for Madrid, they was a lot of chatter about clashes of egos. The atmosphere in the dressing room perceived in his first days and the bonding Relationship with his new teammates however, suggests there’s nothing to fear.
Next challenge for Mbappe
Real Madrid will take-on Las Palmas tonight. Tonight’s game will provide the perfect opportunity for Mbappe to put all the noises to bed.
While his talent on the field has never been doubted, Real Madrid do not think they made a mistake with the signing of Mbappe. The club believes the outcome will be massive when he successfully settles in with his new teammates.
