Finally, we can say Real Madrid are back. Of course the merengues didn’t have their best game ever, but last nights performance was the best so far this season.

The second half came with a completely different flow. The merengues became more aggressive and direct with focus on all three points.
Fede Valverde in particular was the highlight of this half, his intensity and desire was unmatched. The Uruguayan ran the Midfield single handedly an played a crucial part in the first goal.
Carlo Ancelotti opted for a re-shuffle in the 65th minute, bringing on Brahim Diaz and Fran Garcia for Mendy and Ceballos. Once again, Ancelotti got it right as these subs went on to change the outcome of the game.
A beautiful link up play from Rodrygo to Valverde who assisted Kylian Mbappe provided the breakthrough in the night. Mbappé’s goal was the first in his LaLiga career and he was not done yet for the night.
Eight minutes after his first goal, Mbappe yet again found the back of the net from the spot. A nice place by Vinicius won a penalty for the merengues and the Brazilian let the French man shoot for his second.
With the game already in the bag, Ancelotti re-shuffled his side in the 84th minutes, this time bringing on Modrić for Mbappe, and in the 89th minutes brining on Endrick for Rodrygo.
