PSG set to HIJACK Real Madrid midfield target

Real Madrid have held a long standing interest in River Plate wonderkid Franco Mastantuono. The Merengues see the 17 years old as an important signing for the future, and have been waiting for the right opportunity to sign him at the right price. Now that PSG have entered the picture, everything is about to change.

The Parisians are attacking the deal aggressively, and are willing to pay his €45M release clause without batting an eye. Real Madrid for their part, see the €45M valuation as overpriced for a 17 year old unproven talent.

Real Madrid’s reluctancy has pushed the young talent closer to a summer move to France. Spanish media AS claims unless Real Madrid intervene, Franco is expected to sign with PSG.

Franco prioritizes a move to Real Madrid

As per the source, the Argentinian is in LOVE with the option of joining Real Madrid. In addition, it’s his desire to play for the Merengues which still has him playing in South America till date. Offers have been flying in left, right, center but he decided to be patient and wait for Real Madrid.

As of now, PSG are the ones works really hard, and are doing their possible best to convince the player to join them. The player after seeing their efforts, is beginning to give in.

The only way he doesn’t join PSG this summer is if Real Madrid IMMEDIATELY go for him. Of course they must accept to pay the €45M release clause demanded by Rivers Plate.

Real Madrid’s reluctance is based on Arda Guler’s development

At Real Madrid, they see Arda Guler as a player with a very high ceiling, one capable of becoming the best in his position. In addition, he occupies the same role as Mastantuono on the field.

The feeling is that if they push through with a deal for Franco, it will slow Arda’s development. This will see his minutes shared and might hinder him from reaching his full potential.

However, former head coach Santiago Solari who now occupies the director of football role has been the one trying to convince the club otherwise. He’s pushing for the signing of Franco this summer before PSG hijacks the deal.
