Positive talks between Rodrygo and Xabi Alonso over Player’s future

The arrival of Xabi Alonso could well and truly turn the fortunes around for Rodrygo and his Real Madrid future. Talks are said to have taken place between both parties, with a positive consensus the outcome.

Just over a month ago, Rodrygo was flooded with doubts as to whether to stay or try his luck elsewhere. This came after the player massively underperformed, falling behind in the pecking order.

Rodrygo also believed he didn’t get enough credit for his work, as all the hype targeted Mbappe, Vinicius and Bellingham. This left a huge gap of doubts in his mind, as he began reconsidering his importance to the team.

Rodrygo is expected to STAY at Real Madrid

As we earlier reported, RodrygoRodrygo was scheduled to have a conversation with Xabi Alonso any of this days. Bar any unexpected changes, the believe is that Xabi Alonso has convinced Rodrygo to stay and fight for a place. The Spaniard looks to have won the player over with his brilliant tactical ideas, which have brought back a smile to his face.

Infact, after a training session earlier this week, Rodrygo took to his socials and posted “Feliz” accompanied by some photos of him with a bright smile on his face while in training. The caption “Feliz” is a Spanish word which translates to “Happy” in English.

Taking all this into consideration, Marca  is positive enough to claim he will stay at Real Madrid despite interest from Arsenal. The player is not thinking about any offers at the moment.

However, the competition for a place has all the most gotten tougher going into next season. The club has just splashed €41m on 17 years old Franco Mastantuono, a player widely regarded as a starter upon arrival.

Both will compete for the right-wing,  only the best will play. Make no mistake, Franco might be 17 but he has no shortage of talent. Rodrygo will need to do so much more than this season if he wants to keep the spot.
