Carlo Ancelotti and his players suffered yet another setback in their title defending season. Going down 1-0 just 5 minutes into the contest, the team struggled to find its footing.

After the frustrating results last night, Carlo Ancelotti’s team are now 4 points behind leaders Barca just three games into the season. With Real Madrid being favorites for this seasons LaLiga, this slip-ups comes as a big surprise.

Ancelotti’s reaction post match

Carlo Ancelotti: “These three games have shown me many things that are not going well”
Carlo Ancelotti: “The players need clarity.”

Prior to the game, Ancelotti discussed on a variety of topics with the media, including the balance of the team as he said;

“The team is not well-balanced, we are not quick in moving the ball, we have a hard time recovering it… We have to find a quick solution”

The first half itself was a pure disaster as the los blancos looked completely lost. Ancelotti could hold back either as he continued;

“I think the first half was bad. We struggled to find balance. I haven’t seen any improvement compared to Mallorca. We have to look for solutions and I think we will find them.”

The merengues showed up with no particular plan on the field as players often crossed each other’s paths. On other instances, more than one players were seen occupying the same position. On that Ancelotti remarked;

“I have to be clearer about field strategies to give clarity to the players”.
“We can’t make excuses, this has not been good enough.”

Another aspect where the players failed to impress was the intensity of the game and off-ball. In that, the Italian gaffer said;

“We move the ball too slow and don’t recover it fast enough. We haven’t found the balance.”
“The next game is on Sunday, we must improve.”

In recent days, they have been rumors circulating that Real Madrid have re-entered the transfer market. Ancelotti however, continues to insist on the trust he has for his squad as he replied;

“The squad is CLOSED.”

Don carletto is known for a man who always takes full responsibility of the bad moments and own up to his mistakes. Yesterday despite not being pleased with what he saw from his players, the gaffer was no different as he said;

“It is a footballing problem. When we don’t have the ball, we struggle to be compact, we leave space between the lines. I have to find the solution, not the players.”
“We have to look for solutions and I think we will find them.”

Next up for Real Madrid will be the match day 4 on Saturday. Los blancos will take on Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu before a two weeks international break.
