The quality at Real Madrid has made life almost impossible for young players to make a breakthrough to the first team.
Their constant hunger for victory, has set the bar so high that being just “good” as a player is not enough, you have to be special, incredible and above all offer something different to the squad.
Mario Martin’s move to Valladolid
In a recent announcement by the Real Madrid’s official website, the move was confirmed as it read;
“Real Madrid c.f and Real Valladolid have agreed to the transfer of player Mario Martin for this season, until June 30, 2025” the communique confirmed.
TALKS on Martin’s first team promotion this season
Couple of weeks ago, while the team was still on pre-season tour in the United States, where they faced AC MILAN, Barcelona and Chelsea respectively, Mario Martin was the only academy player to play every minute of all three games. Amidst his incredible performances during that time, rumors of him getting the leap to the first team were gaining momentum, with reports claiming he is one of Carlo Ancelotti’s most trusted assets from the academy ranks. However a promotion was not the case.
In a bigger picture, Mario Martin’s loan move is considered a smart one for the youngsters development. At a club like Valladolid, he might even go on to claim the central stage increasing his chances of a Santiago Bernabéu return in the future.
This summer has been one of great exodus in terms of academy young talents at Real Madrid, with exits including the likes of ; Rafa Obrador ( deportivo la coruna, sagunda division, loan), Rafa Marin (Napoli, Italy), Nico Paz (como, Italy, permanent move), Juanmi Latasa ( Valladolid). With Reinier Jesus also expected to leave.
Real Valladolid are Real Madrid’s next opponent in LaLiga match day 2 on Sunday, Mario Martin, 20, could make his LaLiga debut at the Santiago Bernabéu while playing against a club he has always known as home.
