Luka Modric says YES to AC Milan

Over 2 weeks ago, both Real Madrid and captain Luka Modric reached a consensus to part ways after 13 years together. Indeed a beautiful story reached its end, with Modric leaving the club as the player with most honors in its history.

Following his departure, offers have flooded his table like a freshly discovered 21 years old talent. Clubs from the MLS, Saudi pro League and other European heavyweights have all registered interest. However, the one that stood out is AC Milan.

The Italian side has shown relentless efforts in the 39 years old, and are gunning for his experience in their midfield. With star man Tijjani Reijnders set for a summer exit, they badly need a refill.

Talks ongoing for a ONE year deal

As per Republica, an Italian reliable source, Ac Milan’s offer to Modric is detailed at a One year commitment. They are seriously considering Luka this summer, with optimism surrounding the deal.

The report even goes as far as claiming Modric already gave his OK for negotiations to take place. Serious talks are now underway with the player’s representatives.

Modric will be out of contact after the Club World Cup, meaning Milan get to sign him for free.

No European football for AC Milan next season

Modric’s desire has always been to play at the highest level, fighting for the biggest titles. However, if an agreement with AC Milan is reached, Modric won’t get the chance to play in any European competition for the first time in 13 years.

The Rossoneris endured a tough and disappointing campaign, finishing 8th in the Serie A this season. It  would have been possible to secure a Europa League spot, but they blew it up when they lost the coppa Italia finals to Bologna 1-0.

With that said, this all but confirms the fact Modric won’t get to face Real Madrid should a move materialize.
