Luka Modric POSTPONES medicals with AC Milan out of respect for Real Madrid

A little over one month ago, Luka Modric announced he will be leaving Real Madrid this summer. After 13 seasons with the Merengues, both player and club came to an agreement to part ways. Though, Modric would’ve wished for one more extension.

With his Real Madrid exit completed, offers came flying in  for the 40 years old like he was a newly discovered talent. Clubs from Saudi Arabia registered interest, while Inter Miami in the United States pushed really hard. However, the player will end up at AC Milan.

Modric and Milan have already reached an agreement for a one year contract, with a salary of around €3-4m. Infact, medicals were even scheduled for this week, but the player had to move it further out of respect for Real Madrid. Report emerges courtesy of MatteMoretto

Modric wishes to focus on the club World Cup, while running down his contract with Real Madrid. After the competition, the player will become a free agent, then think about other clubs (AC Milan).

Modric will give everything to win the club World Cup.

A competition maybe not on the same level as the Laliga and Champions League, but it’s Modric’s last participation for Real Madrid, making it all the more important. The Croatian will captain the Merengues for one last challenge, and you bet he’ll want to cap it off his time on a high.

When talking about the club World Cup, the player said:

“One last dance at the Club World Cup. We will give everything to bring the trophy here and celebrate with our people. Ending my Real Madrid career with that title would be amazing.”

Real Madrid will head direction US this weekend, as they hope to become the first winners of this new format of the competition. In exactly one week from now, Real Madrid will face Al Hilal in their first group stage match.
