Liverpool set to HIJACK Real Madrid’s Midfield target

Real Madrid have been actively scouting the market recently in search of a midfielder with a profile of that of a creator. The merengues want to first compensate losing Kroos last summer, then fill in the boots of the departing Luka Modric.

One midfield who has been heavily linked to the club with those regards is Florian Wirtz. The German international has been on Real Madrid’s radar for over a year now, with the club weighing a possible move.

The Los Blancos were betting on the fact that Bayer Leverkusen would rather sell Wirtz abroad rather than local rivals. The player has also enjoyed great success under head coach Xabi Alonso, which was one of the pulling factors for Real Madrid.

However, a recent report from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has linked the midfielder to England.

Liverpool REACH personal terms with Wirtz

As per the report, Liverpool and the player have had fresh talks in the last 24 hours, with the merseyside club confident over a deal.  The player has given Liverpool the green-light.

Liverpool has now proceeded to make contact with Bayer Leverkusen – they want to be fast. They want to avoid any surprises in the deal, especially with Bayern Munich also in the hunt for the player.

Real Madrid deemed Wirtz too EXPENSIVE

Although Real Madrid has plans of signing a Galactico midfielder this summer as per sources, they didn’t see a need to match Leverkusen’s demands for Wirtz. The player is valued north of €120M and Real Madrid considers that amount to be over-exaggerative.

The Spanish giants will continue in their search for a more cost friendly Midfielder, one that almost guarantees success. Names currently on their shortlist are Angelo Stiller, Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Fernandez, Tijjani Reijnders and currently Vitinha of PSG.

However, nothing is signed and sealed yet, as the next few hours will be crucial.
