Luka Modric announced his exit from Real Madrid almost 24hrs ago and as expected, offers have come flying in. Amongst the interested parties is Inter Miami, a club home to Lionel Messi.
Inter Miami, co-owned by a Real Madrid Galactico in David Beckham is a major league soccer club in the united states, which has been on an upward trajectory recently. They signed some big names in the last couple of summer including Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
However, currently coached by Argentine legend Javier Mascherano, Inter Miami has been a shadow of their former self this season. Knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup by Vancouver Whitecaps in the semifinals, Miami currently seat 11th in the MLS table.
And now, Marca have come to confirm that the club sees Modric as a possible asset to strengthen the squad.
Modric Weighing his opportunities
At 39, most professional players are probably retired and enjoying gulf in sunny afternoons, except you’re Luka Modric. The Croatian international is still on the front cover of newspapers, with clubs chasing after him.
According to Jorge Picon, Luka Modric does not only have offers from Inter Miami. Other clubs in the United States and Saudi Arabia in particular have come knocking.
Saudi’s big money spenders have been after Modric for a while now, especially last season when his contract was under scrutiny. Now that his Real Madrid chapter is concluded, there’s a real chance they get their man.
Possible Re-Unification with Cristiano Ronaldo
Two players who are near their 40s, Real Madrid faithfuls will absolutely love for a Ronaldo Modric Re-unite. Al Nasr have actively been scouting for top and attractive prospects for the upcoming summer including KDB, and Modric is back on that list.
Also, both Ronaldo and Modric are eyeing a last dance for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, after which both players are expected to retire.
