As we reported earlier, Real Madrid have intensified their interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz. To Real Madrid’s advantage, the bundesliga outfit have no problem letting him go.
Unsurprisingly, Wirtz has attracted a lot of interest across Europe, owing to his staggering performances. The players was previously linked to man city, bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the past. However, as of now the two frontrunners for the deal are Bayern and Real Madrid.
With regards to both European heavyweights going all out for the young German, German journalist Florian plattenberg has shed light on the situation of the deal.
Leverkusen fancy a deal with Madrid over Bayern.
Being direct league rivals, it’s not hard to figure out why Leverkusen prefer Real Madrid for the deal. The source insist on the fact that as long as Real Madrid remains interested in the player they will be the likely party to pull off a deal.
However, the German side do not intend to let their star player go cheaply. They have already made peace with the fact that Wirtz will have to move to a bigger institution one day, but will not settle for less.
Infact, according to recent rumors, Bayer Leverkusen value Wirtz at around €150m. A price Real Madrid have no problem whatsoever matching in the summer.
Discussions have already taken place.
In addition to the report, the source also claims that Real Madrid has already met the player’s representatives to commence talks. If this happens to be true, then it’s very likely Wirtz could be a madridista by next summer.
Bayern Munich though will not give up on the race without a fight. They aim to re-unite Wirtz with fellow compatriot Jamal musiala, and for as long as Wirtz is not a Madrid player yet, they will keep that dream alive.
