Real Madrid will embark on their journey to the United States later today, as they get ready for the club World Cup. A competition which embraces a new format, Fede Valverde believes Real Madrid has what it takes to come out first edition champions.
The competition debuts tomorrow in Miami, but Real Madrid aren’t expected to be in action till Wednesday. The merengues are currently undergoing training at Real Madrid city, with plans of taking off immediately after.

On talking to the club’s official media, Fede first welcomed his new teammates. Trent and Huijsen are new arrivals to the dressing room, about whom Valverde said:
“I’m very eager and excited about my new teammates. They have a lot of desire, energy and passion to defend this badge, and that excites everyone.”
Talking about working under new head coach Xabi Alonso, Fede said:
“Xabi Alonso is very engaging and intense. Having him around helps a player a lot. He’s going to help us in terms of football and personally.
We will all be pushing in the same direction to win the most titles this year.”
On the main event, the club World Cup, he said:
“Real Madrid always deserves to be at the top. The first Club World Cup deserves to be here with us, with this badge & celebrating it with our fans.
We’re going to give our 100% to bring this trophy home.”
To commence their charge for the trophy, Real Madrid will face Al Hilal, Pachuca and RB Salzburg in group H. The winner of the group will play second from ground G.
Participants of group G include Man City, Juventus, Al-Ain and Wydad Casablanca. If Real Madrid were to finish first , they would face second here. But if Madrid finishes second, they get to face first.
