Nico Paz has taken the Serie A by storm in just his first season at senior level football under Cesc Fabregas. Nico is a graduate of the Real Madrid La Fabrica, who left the club only last summer. He’s being linked with a potential return just one season later.
According to reports by MarioCartegana, Nico Paz is really a name to pay close attention to in the coming days. The possibility of a Bernabeu return is looking likelier by the day.
Another Spanish outlet COPE even went as far as claiming that Real Madrid are bringing BACK Nico. The source claims it could happen this week.
Fabrizio Romano share insight on the Nico deal
This rumors have also got Fabrizio talking. Fabrizio Romano is also of the foot that Nico Paz is headed direction Madrid. It looks like he’ll be the midfield signing for the club World Cup after the acquisition of Trent and Huijsen.
Real Madrid will meetup with the Italian side Como in the coming days this week, with aim of informing them about their idea of triggering the buyback clause hanging over his deal. The Merengues purposely put this clause while reaching an agreement last summer, incase events such as this arose.
The clause is set at €8M this summer, €9M next summer and €10M in the summer after next. Real Madrid also retains a 50% sell on clause for the player, which entitles them to half of the player’s rights.
This has always been Real Madrid’s way when letting any of their academy prospects leave, as they leave the possibilities of a return very affordable. The €8M they will pay for Nico for example, is far below his current valuation.
As per sources, new head coach Xabi Alonso had everything to do with this deal. The Spaniard admires Nico Paz a lot, and is a big fan of his displays in the Serie A this season.
Nico Paz took his chances ruthlessly
When Nico joined Como, he was just a young inexperienced boy, with a very sparse involvement with the first team. However, he did not let that stop him in his new adventure.
He went on to win the best U23 player of the Serie A, and also amongst the highest rated midfielders in the league.
