“It’s not a GOODBYE, it’s a see you LATER” Ancelotti talks Madrid exit

Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid officially parted ways earlier this month, as the Italian embraced a new adventure. Carlo has now taken charge of the Brazilian NT, with the task of making them world champions again.

Real Madrid for their part, have gone for a complete different profile of coaching. The club has entrusted their future to the tactical brilliance of Xabi Alonso.

The Spaniard will resume team training at Valdebebas on June 9th, in what will be the start of a new era. His first assignment will be to lead this team to a Club World Cup winning medal.

Ancelotti’s first words since leaving Real Madrid

In an interview with marca, Carlo talked about his Real Madrid exit for the first time since his last game at the club. He was asked if that was the end of his Real Madrid chapter, to which he replied:

“Is it a goodbye to Real Madrid? No, it’s a see you later. One can NEVER leave Real Madrid.”
“There’s nothing like Real Madrid. I think experiencing what I’ve experienced at Real Madrid is impossible to experience at any other team. The three finals, those matches, the atmosphere at the Bernabéu… everything.”

Carlo Ancelotti, also shared an insight on his last days at the club:

“Why did it end with Real Madrid? Results were NOT as expected. The team’s game was NOT GOOD either. After Arsenal we talked and it was decided. It was something that was seen coming. The team was not well and we all realized that it’s for the best.”

The Italian seems to be a fanboy of his successor, and backs him to go all the way at the club:

Xabi Alonso has done an incredible job with Bayer Leverkusen. We’ve talked, he doesn’t need my advice because he knows the club perfectly. He’s going to do a GREAT job at Real Madrid.”

Carlo also had a few words of praise for Kylian Mbappe, saying:

Kylian Mbappé? He has showed what he’s capable of in his first season. I told him that with his and Real Madrid’s goals we were obliged to win the Champions League this season.”

To conclude, he talked about Vini Jr’s Brazil form, as well as his vision for the Selecão:

“Vini Jr. is a fighter and hard worker like a very few. You will see his best soon. I came here to make Brazil World Champions again. I am convinced that we can do it.”
