Kylian Mbappe ended his 3 games goal draught in LaLiga last night with a brace. It has been rollercoaster for Mbappe who is desperately seeking to adapt in this new challenge.
Indeed, with the brace, a huge relief will befall the player and more is only expected to come.
Mbappé’s reaction after scoring brace
After the game, Mbappe answered a handful of questions from the media, including on how he feels at the club;
“This is a dream come true, We are Real Madrid.”
The Frenchman then went on to talk on the support he has received from the fans as he said;
“For me, having all this support from the fans, the team, everyone here, it means a lot. I’m so happy. The people love me so much, even when I don’t score.”
“All this support from everyone here gives me confidence to score more. I hope to score many more goals for this club.”
It has become a normality for every player getting Goosebumps on scoring at the Bernabéu and Mbappe was no exception;
“I’ve already scored in this legendary stadium, the Bernabéu is the best stadium in the world.”
Mbappé was then teased with the idea of becoming Cristiano’s successor at the club, to which he replied;
“Successor to Cristiano Ronaldo? He is my idol, yes. But no, I don’t want that pressure. I want to be Kylian. The Only pressure I want to have is of having to adapt to the team. ”
During the Mbappé’s goal drought, there was a lot of chatter about him and Vinicius upfront. On that regards, he said;
“Talk about me & Vini Jr.? It’s okay, we’re young, famous, it’s normal for people to talk.”
Carlo Ancelotti has recently revealed he has left the penalty taking choice to both superstar, on that Mbappé said;
“The coach says that we both take the penalties? I don’t want to force things, that’s not my mentality.”
“when a player like me comes to a team, many things change, I know, I’m not crazy, but from the first game you can see that we are a little bit better, right?.. I feel good in this team.”
On whether he felt any pressure at all, Mbappe said;
“Pressure? No pressure. It’s football. Compared to the first game I think we are a little bit better, I knew this moment was coming.”
“Criticism? I am not surprised, it is part of life. I am used to it.”
On his best position on the field, Mbappé said;
“I can play in all three attacking positions. I can adapt. The important thing is to know how to move. I played like that a bit in Paris.”
Mbappé also gave a shout-out to Valverde for the assist as he said;
“My first goal? It was all Fede Valverde’.”
Like every top player would do, Mbappe was the first to be self critical of himself while highlighting his goals this season;
“I can play way better.”
“Goals? The goal is to win titles.”
