The fee for Franco Mastantuono’s move to Real Madrid has been confirmed to be €45m net. His release clause was set at $45m (€41.5m), but was conditioned to get higher if paid in installments. This is to say Real Madrid would have paid only the €41.5m if they paid in full, but the fee initially increased to €45m because they agreed to pay in installment
This fee was confirmed by River Plate’s president Jorge Brito himself, while discussing about the move. On letting his most priced asset leave, the president as quoted by GerGarciaGrova said;
“River will collect €20M net now, €12.5M in June 2026 & €12.5M in June 2027. It’s a deal of €45M net. We couldn’t cut off the player’s dream.”
As the president himself confirmed, joining Real Madrid has always been Franco Mastantuono’s dream. It was thanks to the player’s desire that Real Madrid easily shoved competition from PSG. On seeing how eager the player was, River decided not to stand on his way, and reached a deal immediately.
Franco is now a Real Madrid player, and is expected to land Madrid after the club World Cup for his presentation on August 14. It will be a memorable day for the Argentine international, as it’s expected to be his 18th birthday. This will sure enter his top 5 birthday presents ever.
Real Madrid fans will be watching River plate at the CWC
Franco may be the most excited talent in South America, but Real Madrid fans haven’t watched pass edits of the player. This is as a result of the alternating time zones. Argentina league games are always scheduled for late nights breaking morning in Europe and Africa.
However, the whole world have got their eyes on the Club World Cup. This will give Real Madrid fans the opportunity to watch him in real time before he joins later this summer.
