The only visible clear chance at goal was from kylian Mbappe, who found the target from a line breaking pass from the other end of the defence.
Frustrations began to creep in, forcing Valverde, Tchouaméni and Rüdiger to take drastic decisions and shoot from impossible angles outside the box. This was the nature of the game till the first half whistle was blown.

In the 69th minute, Ancelotti took off Arda Güler and Rodrygo, and brought on Brahim Diaz and Luka Modrić. Then with just five minutes of regular time left, kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr Were both hooked for Endrick and Dani Ceballos.
Indeed, the substitutes did pay off as Brahim Diaz who had earlier come on for Arda Güler, doubled the scoreline in the 88th minute and then went on to assist fellow substitute Endrick in the 90+6 minute to score his first goal for Real Madrid and make it 3-0.
