Franco Mastantuono wants to join Real Madrid NOW, not in August

Franco Mastantuono to Real Madrid is officially a done deal. The Spanish giants saw off competition from PSG for the wonderkid. The Merengues have triggered his $45m (€39.5m) release clause, as the Argentinian is set sign a 6 year deal confirms Fabrizio RomanoFabrizio Romano.

As per other reliable reports, Franco was expected to make the move to Spain in August, just after the Club World Cup. However, according to Marca the player has been actively pushing to join Real Madrid now. He’s very excited about his dream move, and wants to make the jump immediately.

Chances of Franco joining before the CWC looking increasingly likely

Following this exclusive from marca, Argentinian journalist Clarin has come out to shed more light to the saga. As per the source, everything indicates that Franco Mastantuono will play the club World Cup as a Real Madrid player. He won’t be representing his parent club River Plate, who are also contesting in the competition.

After the phone call Franco had with Xabi Alonso, everything changed. It TILTED the balance.

Xabi made it clear to the player: ‘I want you now’. The intention is to integrate the player to his ideas just in time before the start of what will be a very demanding season.

With just 24 hours left till the ‘special’ transfer window closes, the next few hours will be key.

Xabi plans to play Franco as an ‘old school number 10’

During negotiations, one of the main things which fully convinced the player that Real Madrid was the right choice was the confidence the coach had in him. The Spaniard plans to revive a position on the field which has slowly died over the years, and he sees Franco as the right guy.

An ‘old school #10’, a role fellow Argentine compatriot Lionel Messi strived in during his prime days at Barcelona. The youngstar is set to operate in that similar role at Real Madrid.

Franco has no shortage of talent, and the fact he is just 17 means he will only get better. Technicality, vision, smooth movement, passing, incredible footwork…. He has got all of that in his locker. The perfect signing for Real Madrid.
