A day to the opening match of the champions league, the merengues have been greeted with some bad news earlier this morning. Indeed, Brazilian CB Eder Militão missed out on training this morning and is a doubt for tomorrow.
Owing to his absence in training, reports have come flying in on the extent and consequences of the blow. Amongst the numerous reports, trusted journalist Miguel angel Diaz of COPE has shed light on the incident.
Ancelotti to make due without Militão
According to the trusted journalist, Real Madrid will debut their title defending campaign without the expertise of Militão. Sidelined for the entirety of last season for an ACL injury, Militão looks to have suffered another blow.
With the extent of the injury unknown, one thing sure is that the team won’t count on his participation. As a result of the injury, the source goes on to claim Tchouaméni will be the CB partner of Rüdiger tomorrow.
Tchouaméni will be no stranger to the CB department, as the Frenchman strived in the department last season. When Eder Militão was ruled out and David Alaba soon followed, Ancelotti had no other option but to count on Tchouaméni in times of need.
Indeed, Tchouaméni did a spectacular job at CB and will be looking to recreate his performance tomorrow night. His physicality and ability to win aerial duels, proved to be a great asset for Ancelotti.
An increasing injury list for Ancelotti
We’re still in the early stages of the campaign and Real Madrid has already suffered all kinds of injuries. Boosted by the return of Tchouaméni and Bellingham this morning, players including; Camavinga, Militão, Alaba, Ceballos, Brahim Diaz and Joan Martinez are all still out.
Once again, Carlo Ancelotti will have to find solutions to bail himself out of this one.
