Real Madrid took-on Stuttgart at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday night, in what was the opening match of their title defending campaign. The highlight of the clash came in the dying seconds of the game, when young summer arrival Endrick scored world-die from an impossible angle in the 96th minutes.
Despite winning 3-1, it was an open game of football, with the visitors creating a good number of chances for themselves but failed to capitalize. Prior to the game, Spanish newspaper Relevo has come out to claim that one particular Real Madrid players participate in the encounter while not being 100% fit. (Via Madridxtra)
Tchouaméni played with an injury
According to the source, Aurelien Tchouaméni is the player in question. Tchouaméni, who only joined training on the eve of the clash, is said to have not been 100% fit on the night.
This explains why Carlo Ancelotti had subbed him off on the 70th minute mark for Modrić. The Italian, when asked why he subbed both Tchouaméni and Bellingham, claimed it was part of his rotation plans, and also due to the fact that they had only just returned from injury.
Tchouaméni got injured upon arrival at the French camp earlier this month, and alongside Mendy returned to Madrid. The French Midfielder did not even participate a single minute in the international break.
Owing to the injury, Tchouaméni was ruled out for the sociedad clash, but was deemed fit for Stuttgart.
What’s next for Tchouaméni?
The schedule only gets busier for Real Madrid from here. The merengues will welcome Espanyol this Saturday at the Bernabéu, deportivo Alaves on Tuesday and travel to the Wanda metropolitano on Sunday for the Madrid Derby.
With the club expected to be in action every three days, Carlo Ancelotti will be needing all the help he can get from the team, Tchouaméni included.
Good thing is he participated against Stuttgart and was subbed off without injury. With that being said, Tchouaméni is expected to be fully fit for Saturday.
