One more year left for David Alaba at Real Madrid.

As we earlier said, the player’s ultimate goal is to turn the fortunes around now that there’s a breath of fresh air with a new coach. On July 1, 2021, David Alaba joined Real Madrid on a five year deal, with contract expiring in summer 2026. This means the player still has a year left on his deal.

Real Madrid has decided to be understanding and supportive through this rough times of the athlete’s career. Although Alaba is one of the highest earners at the club, The Merengues won’t result to forcing him out. Rather, they will provide him with the right environment to recover, and just like any player, give him a chance to bounce back.

Intense competition for a spot in Real Madrid’s defense

Moving into the new season, Real Madrid are expected to have up to five senior CB’s competing for two spots. Dean Huijsen arrived this summer as a guaranteed starter, making it just one spot left for grabs.

If Alaba wants to stand a chance, he must first fight his injury crisis, then he can think about his football abilities. However, football has thought us to never write anyone off, this could be a miraculous season for the Austrian.
