Carlo Ancelotti attended his customary pre-match press conference earlier today, ahead of Tuesday’s clash vs Stuttgart. Carletto and his boys will welcome the German side at the Bernabéu for what will be their opening game of the campaign.

Carletto’s pre-match presser

On how he felt about the new champions league campaign, carletto said;

“CL? We are excited as always. It is a special competition for Real Madrid. We expect a very entertaining game tomorrow.”

Talking about players fitness, ancelotti said;

“Bellingham, Tchouameni and Militão are FINE. Militão needed one more day of rest.”

 “Eder Militão? He didn’t train today because we wanted him to rest. He will be available tomorrow 100%.”

Given the way the team has found it difficult to create Chances, it looked like they are missing a certain Toni Kroos. When asked if his side Misses the German, carletto said;

“Toni Kroos is a player who is very difficult to replace but we have great players who continue to play and perform well.”

Talking more about not playing well, Carlo was asked to discuss his team’s form, to which he replied;

 “We will get to our best level. We could have more points in La Liga, true, but we are where we expected to be. We won a title and we are improving. Don’t forget the players returned to training on August 9.”

“As always, Real Madrid will fight till the end.”

While it has been a poor start for Real Madrid, Barca on the other side are enjoying a dream campaign. On that, carletto said;

“Barcelona’s level? We respect them, just like how we respect all our opponents. When teams do well, we have to respect them, just like all other teams.”

It’s only 6 games into the season for Real Madrid and the team has already suffered all sorts of injuries. On the growing list, Carlo added;

“Solution to injuries? Obviously we are looking into it. The problem is the fixture list. Now we are playing this competition with new format, more games, let’s see how it goes. The number of games should be reduced.”

“If the institutions who are in charge don’t see anything wrong with having so many games, then we have a problem.”

Another topic gaining strength in the Spanish media has been rivals ill and racial treatments towards Vinicius Jr. On the matter, carletto had this to say;

“What has happened to Vinicius all these years… it’s something unbearable. I don’t know how he can handle it. I wouldn’t be able. It’s inadmissible. I think they do this because they see how dangerous he is.”

On whether he sees his side as favorites in this edition of the competition, Carlo said;

“We won the Champions League last season but this doesn’t mean we are the favourite again. This is a new season. Hopefully we will go to the final again.”

Finally, to round-off the day, carletto was asked to choose between this squad and the one he had last season. Without much hesitation, the Italian gaffer said;

Which squad is better, last or this? We lost Nacho, Joselu, Kroos but we replaced them with one of the best players in the world. So yes, this season’s squad is better.”
