Myles Lewis-Skelly has been one of the breakthrough young talents in Europe this season. A graduate from Hale End, Arsenal’s academy setup, Skelly found himself debuting for the Arsenal first at 18. Injury crisis forced Mikel Arteta to count on his Academy ahead of demanding fixture against Man City.
On his debut against the Cityzens, Skelly made an instant impact, getting his name on the scoresheet in a thumping 5-1 victory. The grass only got greener and greener for the young talent, as he never looked back.
His rise to superstardom did not go unnoticed, as Europe’s bests have come knocking, Real Madrid included. However, there’s no panic at Arsenal, as they’re totally confident of keeping the player beyond Madrid’s reach.
Only one year left on Myles Lewis-Skelly contract
Real Madrid are known for their tactics of intensifying interest on players whose contracts are due or almost due. The fact that Skelly only has one year tying him to Arsenal makes the option even more salivating.
Real Madrid highly value the player’s versatility, as he is capable of operating both as a central midfielder and as an inverted wingback. His age also aligned perfectly with Real Madrid’s transfer policy, with the club bent on recruiting more teenagers.
There’s currently no updates of talks going on between the player and Arsenal to renew his contract. However as we said earlier, Arsenal are calm and confident the player will renew, reports Fabrizio Romano
Real Madrid will have to do more than just put an effort if they plan to sway him away from the Emirates in 2026. Knowing Real Madrid, you can’t possibly say it’s an impossible task for them. The club’s legacy speaks for itself.
Against All odds, they were able to land Kylian Mbappe for free in 2024, then backed it up with Trent in 2025. When Real Madrid comes knocking, the whole scenario changes, even Arsenal should be aware of that by now.
