Ancelotti “We played ROCK and ROLL game tonight”

Carlo Ancelotti and his Real Madrid side continued their winning streak last night, as they welcomed Espanyol to the Bernabéu. After going behind 1-0 early in the second half, Real Madrid showed great character and composure to turn the game around, 4-1

Vinicius Jr was one of the main protagonists, as he came on from the bench to completely change the game. Carlo Ancelotti rested some of his starter on the night, as part of his rotation plans this season.

After a fine performance from Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti took to the press, where he discussed his two cents on the game.

In what was a quick question and answer session, the manager was asked to comment on the results;

“We are satisfied. We are getting better, closer to our best version.”

On his teams play style on the night, ancelotti was brief as he said;

“We played a rock & roll game tonight.”

Jude Bellingham and Carvajal were amongst the players subbed off on the night, with the Englishman visibly in pains. When asked to comment on the subs, he said;

“Carvajal took a knock. Bellingham had a problem in his shoulder. We will see tomorrow but it doesn’t seem something serious.”

Talking further on Bellingham, Who looked to have hurt his shoulder again, he added;

“Bellingham’s shoulder? It’s been fixed, you saw he played the whole game. He will be available next game.”

For the records, Real Madrid has only scored one of their 18 games this season in the first half, on that Ancelotti said;

“We have only scored one goal in the first halves this season. I talked about this with the players, trying to fix it.”

“I think it was a good game, we reacted well after Espanyol’s goal. We played much better, much more rhythm, more chances and I’m happy.”

One player who has looked to always make an impact when subbed on is Endrick. Last night the youngstar even won a penalty for the teams fourth goal converted by Mbappe. When asked to comment on the player’s game time, the manager said;

“Unfair with Endrick? There are Mbappé, Rodrygo and Vinicius. He needs to be patient.”

Luka Modrić was one of the unplayable players for Real Madrid last night, as he dominated the whole Midfield. On his captain, he added;

“Luka Modrić? Every player is better when he plays many minutes. Luka always plays at his maximum level, he’s a guarantee for me, when he starts and also when he plays as substitute.”

Finally, the manager was asked to comment on the teams current unbeaten run, as he said;

“38 games unbeaten? It just confirms that this team has done well, is doing well and will do very well.”

After last night’s win, Real Madrid will now quickly turn their attention to what’s ahead. The merengues will play host to Alaves on Tuesday, and travel away for the Madrid Derby next Sunday.
