Trent playing for Real Madrid was not something many people would have had on their bingo card a year ago. However, football is an unpredictable sport, as the Englishman has penned a six year deal until 2031.

His official presentation was done with on Thursday, as the player was unveiled at Real Madrid city as a new Real Madrid player. Fair to say the Englishman came prepared, delivery his opening speech in fluent Spanish. The player clearly wants to make a first impression to the Spanish fans, before taking to the field to showcase his abilities.

In the late hours of Friday night, the player gave another exclusive interview speaking to the clubs official media. Here, he discussed his decision to join Real Madrid, conversation with Xabi Alonso, teammates and ambitions as a player.

To start, Trent described his delight of getting the tag ‘Real Madrid player’ attached to his name:

 “I’m so happy to be here. This is where dreams come true. It’s a very emotional moment for me. I’m so eager to get started. Being here is an amazing achievement, but there’s still a lot of work ahead of me.”
“Being a Real Madrid player is something most players dream of. The fact that it’s a reality… I still can’t believe it.”

On talking with Jude, he said:

 “My conversation with Jude? We talked about his experience here, as friends. When you change teams, you want to know about the team. He told me he loved it and it showed in his play, he enjoyed his football. Everything was telling me that this was the right place to progress in my career.”

When asked why he choose Real Madrid, Trent said:

“Why RM? Because it’s a club that demands success and trophies. My mindset as a player fits perfectly with those demands. I want to win trophies. I want to play with the best players, I want to win the greatest honors
It’s the perfect moment to leave Liverpool and try something different. And there’s no better place than this to do it.”

Visiting the  Bernabeu as an opponent is usually the toughest mentality test for players, now that he’s going to be on the home side, he said:

“Playing at the Bernabeu as an opponent is very different. It’s intimidating, and it’s really loud.
To go out there as a Madridista will be crazy. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately and it’s so exciting”

On his conversation with Xabi Alonso, he said:

“I spoke to Xabi. I’m so excited. He was one of my idols at Liverpool.”

To conclude, the player had worlds of praise for Florentino Perez, for making a deal positive:

“I want to thank Florentino for bringing me here and giving me this opportunity.”
