In what has not been a positive start to the new season for Real Madrid, injuries have not been kind to them either.
The recently concluded international break only saw more names join the list, with Ferland Mendy and Tchouaméni victims. Both players returned to Madrid from French squad without featuring in a single minute with the national team.
With the international break now done and dusted, Real Madrid is gearing up to face Real sociedad. Ahead of the contest, Spanish journalist Mario Cortegana has shed light on two positives for the merengues.
Bellingham and Tchouaméni return
Having trained without any discomfort in yesterday’s training session, there’s now a high level of optimism that Tchouaméni and Bellingham could return against Real sociedad on match day 5. The journalist is particularly confident both stars will be called up by Carlo Ancelotti.
Jude Bellingham has been out of action since the draw to Mallorca, and after missing three match days, the Englishman could now be up for a return.
Tchouaméni meanwhile, suffered an injury upon arrival at the French camp. Luckily for Carlo Ancelotti, a return would mean he didn’t miss any games with the club.
Other injury worries
Meanwhile there has been massive positivity on the injuries of Bellingham and Tchouaméni, the club still has the likes of Camavinga, Alaba and Dani Ceballos to worry about.
Camavinga and Dani Ceballos are still far from a return. While Camavinga was sidelined for atleast 2 months, Dani Ceballos suffered a serious blow keeping him out for about 6-8 weeks
Meanwhile, David Alaba is still suffering from an ACL injury he suffered in December of last Year. A return is not expected until the end of the year.
Heading into the clash, Carlo Ancelotti will be happy to count on the already recovered Militão. The Brazilian suffered a brief injury while with Brazil.
Winning just 50% of their games so far, a win against sociedad will boost their confidence in this title defending season.
