Lucas Vasquez, an absolute legend of the club, maybe of a different tier sees his time with Real Madrid come to an end this summer. The Spaniard is amongst the massive departures completed by the club this summer, with Modric, Ancelotti and Vallejo already confirmed.

Vasquez has spent over 10 years at the club, and was part of a golden generation which brought a lot of success to this great club. A stat that is not often talked about the most, but during the 3 peat era under Zinedine Zidane, Lucas Vasquez was the player with most assists in the squad (40). That at least should give you an idea of how important he’s been to this club.

The last dance for Lucas Vasquez

Lucas Vasquez is a player who represents the club through and through, never hesitating to put the interest of the club first. He’s also one to look out for his teammates at all times.

Take for example, Vasquez knew fully well he’s leaving this summer, but did not announce it yet, as he wanted Luka Modric to have his moment. Similar to what Nacho did last season, Vasquez decided to go low about his future, channeling all his energy to a farewell for Luka Modric at the Bernabeu.

For the legend that he is, the Club has reserved a special moment for him. After the club World Cup, Vasquez will get his proper goodbye. This is why the club has not yet announced his departure, they want the timing to be perfect.

The club World Cup will run from mid June to mid July, a one month tournament. Should Real Madrid go all the way, it will add more excitement to the big event.

It’s also important to mention that with Vasquez’s contract expiring soon, he will receive an extension. It will be a one month deal long enough to see him through the competition.
